Welcome to Plumpton & East Chiltington Wildlife Group

We are a small, local wildlife conservation group based in the East Sussex parishes of Plumpton and East Chiltington.

Our aims are to:
  • survey, monitor and map wildlife and their habitats in the local area
  • conserve and manage local habitats for the benefit of wildlife
  • enthuse and involve local people in wildlife conservation
  • advise and support local people to create havens for wildlife.

Since we launched in 2004 (originally as the Plumpton Habitat Survey Group, then the Plumpton Wildlife & Habitat Group) we have carried out a detailed Phase One habitat survey of Plumpton parish. We changed our name to Plumpton & East Chiltington Wildlife Group in 2015 to cement the partnership between our two parishes.

We are currently involved in many ongoing recording activities.

Nature Notes contains a fascinating medley of articles, updated monthly, on topics ranging from the social wasp to the wasp spider, taking in rooks, grass snakes, moles and other flora and fauna that you are likely to encounter in your gardens (and your homes).
